Brad Bird Confirms The Incredibles 2 Is His Next Movie

While promoting Tomorrowland, director Brad Bird confirmed that his next film will be the long-awaited sequel to 2004's Disney-Pixar film The Incredibles.

Brad Bird wrote and directed the original and recently confirmed that he was hard at work putting the sequel together. How much of the script is done? “Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages," Bird told Collider. "I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn’t get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn’t enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie. I’m just focusing on getting Tomorrowland out into the world and playing with the Incredibles sandbox again.”

After Bird is done hitting the press circuit for Tomorrowland he can begin work on his next film. Will it be The Incredibles 2? Bird replied, “Yeah it feels like it to me, yeah.”

Brad Bird's Tomorrowland opens May 22, 2015.

I'm so glad someone will be making a Fantastic Four movie that I actually would want to see.

Brad Bird has yet to do a bad movie -- in fact, everything he has done has been in the very good to great range.  When I heard that he was turning Disney's Tomorrowland into a film, I was skeptical, but it actually looks very interesting.   I fully trust in Brad Bird to make a fantastic Incredibles 2.A good argument can be made that The Incredibles is actually the BEST superhero movie yet made.  (It is a revised version of the Fantastic Four, but better.  Just substitute a speedster for the Human Torch, and you have the same set of powers.)
