This weekend, Mad Max: Fury Road stormed into theaters leaving audiences in astonishment. The film packed a killer plot and stunning action, all the while maintaining gorgeous cinematography. While it's difficult to select the best moments from any film, I've thrown mine into the list below. I selected what I believe are the best, most unique moments which helped make Fury Road the memorable film it is.

Max Eats The Lizard
Max eating a two-headed lizard was gross. More importantly, it sent a message. Max has been reduced to no luxuries at all, as has the rest of the world. It was a necessary message to send to kick off such a film. Director George Miller had to immerse the audience in the world and doing so with such subtlety was genius. Of course, this quickly lead to Max fleeing for his life and being captured for purposes of being a "blood bag." Rather than tossing us right into the chase, we were given a brilliant moment to realize the setting.

Wives Revealed
In a grim, brutal, and destroyed world there was no reason to believe any ray of hope or purity existed. Furiosa decided to risk her life which was being lived with advantages the rest of the world didn't have seeing as she was in a position of power under the Redeemer's rule. What did she risk it for? Five women. All dressed in white, Max and the audience both saw a symptom of hope… Of innocence and purity. These women had been forced to be the wives of their world's dictator, to carry his children, and stay put until Furiosa opened up an opportunity to escape. Her initial bit of fleeing from men crazy enough to act as kamikaze bombs in hopes of Valhalla was questionable at first, but when the wives were revealed, the audience saw real purpose for her, Max, and the film.

Nux Opens Up
Nux initially seemed like a mindless maniac. He wanted to die a glorious death in the name of his Redeemer and be sent to the Heaven of Valhalla. However, he realized that this would never happen. In one of Fury Road's moments of beauty, Nux opened up to one of the wives and unveiled his inner struggle. Somehow, audiences could sympathize with the character who was just trying to blow himself up in attempts to kill our protagonists. Nux was arguably the best character in the film.

Arrow To The Head
As I said when I talked about the best elements of Fury Road, the moment where Max gets shot with the arrow as he raises his hand terrified of the memory of his fallen little girl displayed such different sides of this movies spectrum. For the entire film it was easy to see the brutality and violence present when humans are reduced down to one primal instinct: survival. However, it conveyed the humanity which could never be lost. Max's memory which he cursed as a haunting actually saved his life. Then of course, there's just how badass it was when he snapped the bit of arrow and continued his rampage of survival.

Immortan Joe Gets Killed
The moment that made the audience quiver and awe: Immortan Joe's face gets ripped off. Furiosa proved just how crafty, ruthless, and driven she is and also claimed her spot atop the list of most badass female characters ever. It was the first time where we ever actually felt like Max and Furiosa were winning. Every moments before this felt as though they were in constant danger, which they were, but now they finally proved their upper hand. Of course, Miller wasn't done wrenching our guts just yet, but this climactic point in the film deserves the cheers.
