Batman v Superman: Details On Doomsday & A Dream Sequence

Heroic Hollywood's super-scooper El Mayimbe dropped by the Shanilan On Batman podcast and discussed the villains of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

He explains that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is going to be the primary antagonist, like Grand Moff Tarkin was in Star Wars. Many people would say Darth Vader was the main villain of Star Wars, but he was actually more like the muscle. Batman v Superman has its own muscle, and that is Doomsday's role in the film.

This is not the first time we have heard that Doomsday will be in the film. We,, actually reported on this back in January and have some major spoilers regarding how he appears in the film, which is very different from his comic origin. You can read that by clicking here.

My own sources have informed me that Doomsday will be a blend of practical and computer-generated effects.

El Mayimbe then goes on to say the "Tell me... do you bleed?" portion of the Batman v Superman footage is actually from a "dream sequence."

You can listen to it at the 38 minute mark.

Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is in theaters March 25, 2016.

  1. I'm sorry, I really don't trust El Mayimbe.

  2. El-M is hit/miss. Sometimes he's right, sometimes he's not.

I really hope Doomsday isn't the villain. The reason why he doesn't have much depth as a character. I know lots of people like him and that's fine, but for me personally I hope this is false. Because he just is a weak character that doesn't get to have much growth. He maybe one of the most strongest characters out there, but I want to see other villains that aren't one dimensional.

Plus on another note it's way too early to introduce him. Superman in the comics gets killed by him. So I just don't think Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman could take him on. Maybe if you have the rest of the gang, with Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman & Martian Manhunter then no one will die. But because it only sounds like Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman I can only imagine them getting their butt kicked.

  3. Save Doomsday for a solo Superman film.  Metallo would make more sense as muscle for Lex in B v. S as something his money could buy/build and lead up to Lex's purple/green Kryptonite suit.  This shit writes itself but Hollywood producers are too quick to try and make the biggest payday over quality. Oh well, it's not my money to lose.

I happen to think Doomsday as the muscle is a great idea. Yes, he killed Superman in the comics, and if it were he and Supes one on one in this movie, it might wind up with Supes dead. However, it won't BE one on one. A threat of this magnitude could be just what the DCCU needs to band all the heroes together. It's going to be hard enough to split screen time among all the heroes without also having to go into detail about Doomsday as well. Leave the villains with interesting backstories for the solo and Justice League movies.
