One of The Walking Dead's most common settings is lost in the woods. In fact, it's one of very few places the survivors have found themselves for more than one season. The same won't be said about Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead's companion series.

Granted, The Walking Dead has, for the most part, been set in Atlanta, Georgia and now Alexandria, Virginia. Both of those locations are surrounded by heavily wooded areas. Fear is set in Los Angeles where trees aren't exactly an abundant resource. "I can say I think we're not in the woods at all. Yeah, I am pretty sure we are in zero woods this season," Walking Dead writer/creator, Robert Kirkman, told EW.

"The urban sprawl—it covers a tremendous amount of land, and it's got an extremely dense population, so there are a lot of things about that that lend itself well to good storytelling in the zombie apocalypse," Kirkman explained. "But also, this is a city where a vast number of people come to the city to reinvent themselves, or they're new to the city for various different reasons. It's almost a city of immigrants inside a country of immigrants. So there's definitely some aspects of that we'll also be playing with as well."

Fear The Walking Dead is set for an August 2015 premiere on AMC.
