Liam Garrigan Cast As King Arthur In Once Upon A Time

Once Upon a Time has cast Liam Garrigan as King Arthur in Season 5.

Garrigan is known for roles in 24: Live Another Day, Strike Back, and the Starz miniseries Pillars of the Earth. He's set to make his debut in the Once Upon a Time Season 5 premiere, and will be a recurring character throughout the rest of the season.

King Arthur hasn't yet been mention in Once Upon a Time, but his existence is implied by Lancelot's backstory, which involves him being disgraced from the Round Table over the love of a woman. Lancelot, played by Sinqua Walls, will also return in Season 5.

"As we do on Once Upon a Time, we're doing our own twist on Camelot, on Arthur's background and on his relationships with Merlin, Guinevere and Lancelot," says executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis.

Once Upon a Time returns Sept. 27 on ABC.
