The Walking Dead's Ethan Embry "Very Loosely Based" On a Comic Character

During The Walking Dead's press meet and greets at Comic-Con International: San Diego, executive producer Scott Gimple confirmed for reporters what fans already knew: Empire Records and Late Phases actor Ethan Embry has joined the cast of The Walking Dead for Season Six.

But...who is he? While Merrit Wever, whose casting was announced at the same time, will apparently be a character from the comics, Embry's role wasn't revealed -- other than the fact that he seemed like kind of a pain in Rick's neck in Alexandria during the Season Six trailer.

Embry's character, according to Gimple, is "very loosely based on a comic character." He said that while he won't name names yet, "People will know when they see it."

They'll have to wait until October, when The Walking Dead returns to Sunday nights on AMC.
