X-Files Revival: Mulder And Scully Confirmed To Have Split

Sorry, Mulder and Scully shippers, it seems the couple's union didn't survive for the series' revival.

While the couple seemed to be together during the X-Files movie sequel, X-Files: I Want To Believe, and even a mid-credit sequence showing them seemingly running away together, they don't seem to be the happy couple this time around.

Fox screened a sneak peek at the TCA summer press tour, with Mulder and Scully having a talk with their relationship mentioned in passing.

"Mulder, listen to me — as your friend and as a physician, you are on dangerous ground here," pleads a concerned Scully.

Zap2It posted the scene that also described that a new character, Sveta, played by Annet Mahendru, might be the key to everything.

Also, Entertainment Weekly confirmed with a Fox source that the pair are no longer together.

The X-Files premieres Jan. 24, 2016 on Fox.
