NBC has picked up the pilot for Powerless, a half-hour single camera comedy set in the DC Universe, Deadline reports.

The series is created by Ben Queen (A To Z), and will be set in one of the worst insurance companies in the United States. The show will focus on the working life of normal humans in the DC Universe.

While the list of DC Comics characters appearing on the show hasn't been worked out yet, rumors suggest that it won't include top tier character like Superman or Batman (pictured above). The real stars of the series will be the power-less workers, who envy the superheroes that populate their world.

In addition to creating A To Z, Queen executive produced the 2007 Fox series Drive, wrote Cars 2 for Pixar and wrote Slanted & Enchanted for Warner Bros.
