Details on Michael Shannon's role in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice have been more slippery than a pair of flippers. So it's all too poetic, then, that the latest information on Shannon's General Zod are, in fact, two flippers.

…Let us explain. Shannon recently shared a humorous anecdote from Batman V. Superman's set, reminiscing on how he couldn't exit a Porta Potty because he had "flippers instead of hands."

" I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn't open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, 'Where's Shannon?" the actor elaborated to Vulture.

Bathroom blunders aside, the flippers point (with a finger, we assume) toward the popular rumor that Shannon's Zod will become Doomsday. The popular theory, for now, is that Zod's corpse (seen in the most recent trailer) will be engineered into the mindless killing machine that once killed Superman in the comics. While Doomsday obviously didn't slay Superman with flippers, it's possible that the flippers were a prosthetic that the film's crew digitally edited later on. Doomsday typically brandishes blade-like bones on his hands, so the flippers could have easily been an actor-friendly version of the deadly weapons.

Shannon wouldn't comment on what the flippers could mean, but it's hard imagining them for many other purposes…unless, of course, Zod becomes Aquaman's trusty new sidekick.

But what do you make of these rumors? Let us know in the comments!

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
