During an expansive TCA interview with Collider, The Flash executiver producer Gabrielle Stanton teased the upcoming relationship between Barry Allen and the Earth-2 Flash, Jay Garrick -- and said decidedly little about some other hugely-anticipated characters coming up from the comics.

"I knew people were going to be excited about Wally West, but I didn't know they were going to be this excited about Wally West, which is a bummer because I can tell you nothing about Wally West," Stanton said. "I can say that he's going to be on [the show] and it's going to be really exciting. The fans will definitely like what we're doing with him."

She said that it will be a "slower burn" to introduce Killer Frost but that the inclusion of a shot of the villain in the Season One finale (seen from inside the Speed Force) was to keep fans guessing.

For Jay's part, he'll be something of a mentor to Barry, who may be somewhat less trusting of that sort of relationship given the last speedster who tried to take him under his wing.

"Reverse Flash was always trying to get Barry to run faster. He seemed like he was really helping him, but really, he was doing it for his own evil purposes," Stanton explained. "Hopefully, it's going to be a little bit different now that Barry is exploring the use of his powers without the man who killed his mother sitting on his shoulder."

The Flash returns on October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
