A pre-school has supposedly banned a lunch box because it featured Wonder Woman, which the school considers to be, along with all superheroes, a violent figure.

What is said to be a letter from the preschool was posted online, saying that the lunchbox breaks the school dress code banning "violent characters" and asking that the box not return to school. There's also photos of the lunchbox in question, which seems pretty tame.

Wonder Woman lunchbox and letter

I stress supposedly because the story comes from Reddit, which is not exactly a gatekeeper of truth. They did not name the school, so we were unable to contact the location to corroborate the story. We also attempted to reach out to the person who originally posted the claim, but the account has been deleted from Reddit.

While the story is causing a stir online among the fan community, we've been unable to find it on any online mainstream news outlets, indicating that it hasn't caused the same stir locally. A quick search for anti-superhero school dress codes also brought up nothing, though a similar story in 2013 claimed that a pre-school had banned imaginary superhero play for similar reasons. That story also first appeared on Reddit, without naming the school, and was never verified.

So maybe this did happen, or maybe it's just an internet prank. Or perhaps its obnoxious viral marketing for a story about a pre-school run by supervillains. Who can say?
