Star Wars has always had a presence on CBS hit-television series The Big Bang Theory and that is why it should come as no surprise that the upcoming film The Force Awakens will make its presence felt this season. Though, it doesn't seem as though the writers are sure how to squeeze it in just yet.

"We're talking about how that will be weaved into [the guys'] lives," Executive Producer Steve Molaro told TVLine. "And we have some really cool ideas."

Over the years, Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj have made many references to Star Wars movies, video games and televisions series. They been seen with or referenced to owning Star Wars merchandise, like bed sheets, hair products, lightsabers, shirts, posters and action figures. Plus, original Star Wars cast members Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones have made guest appearances -- in the same episode, to be exact. That is why Molaro believes it be "weird" for the show not to mention the new Star Wars film.

"Obviously, we're all excited about it, just as human beings — and the characters are as well," he added. "I don"t know exactly how it's going to play in, but it won't be ignored."

The 9th season of CBS' The Big Bang Theory premieres September 21. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters December 18, 2015.
