Zack Snyder is teaming up with Doritos to find the next great filmmaker, who will be hired to work on the DC Universe films alongside the director. Yes, seriously. In the newest (and final) iteration of Doritos' now annual Super Bowl commercial competition, the winner this year won't just have an ad run during the big game. They'll also receive a million dollars and work on the set of Warner Bros and DC Entertainment's upcoming films (presumably on the two-part Justice League films) in an as-yet-undisclosed position, as it will be determined by the winner and Snyder after the fact. The contest was announced on Yahoo! Wednesday afternoon in an interview with Snyder that also addressed several recent relevant media topics. For instance, what does a director who has signed up for at least three major superhero blockbusters in a row think of Steven Spielberg's prediction that the genre will fall the way of the Western, hitting a breaking point and largely disappearing?

"He might not be wrong," Snyder said bluntly. he said he'd be working on making his superhero films about "American mythology" and that would let them "stand the test of time."

Snyder's son is not playing Robin in any upcoming DC films, despite some rumors and speculation. "It's not true. Now there all these images of him that people have made where he's dressed like Robin," the director said. He said that of rumors in general, "It's funny because every now and then someone will touch on something that's kind of true, but the next thing they say makes me realize that they took a wild guess." So when you're posting your theories, make sure to keep them separate if you want to freak Snyder out a bit.
