Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will be speeding through Season 2 of The Flash in a new superhero costume. A tweak here, a tweak there. The super-suit, which was originally designed by Colleen Atwood, is now in the hands of Maya Mani who's the costume designer for The CW DC Television series.

"I added a little bit more to the arms, the chest has been curved out from the original design and the color of his crest has changed," Mani told Fashionista. Now the crest is more comic book-accurate, with a white background behind the lightning bolt. Sweet!

Besides the Scarlet Speedster, Mani has to worry about the numerous villains that grace Central City. How does many approach those costumes? "I look at the iconic comic book character and then what I try and do is extrapolate from that and bring it into a more grounded universe," Mani said.

Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie's death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force.

An unstoppable force is coming. The Flash season 2 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6!
