PlayStation and Sony Pictures Television announced today that Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Ascension) has been cast today in the second season of Powers.

Helfer will play FBI Special Agent Lange, who, like the comic book character, shares a history and palpable sexual tension with Detective Walker (Sharlto Copley). Lange walks the line between the Powers world and the government, and may be best described as a "frenemy" to Detective Walker.

Helfer is best known for her role as Cylon 'Number Six' in Battlestar Galactica. Helfer also played the lead on Syfy's original miniseries, Ascension and ABC's Killer Women. She can currently be seen in the web series Con Man, and will next take the lead the feature-length thriller Isolation.

PlayStation and Sony also announced that Lost alum William Mapother will be joining the cast in the role of Calista's estranged father.

Production began on season two of Powers began last week in Atlanta. New episodes will debut on the PlayStation Network in 2016.
