Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 Rumored To Have One Billion Dollar Production Budget

The combine production budget for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 is reportedly one billion dollars, according to Bleeding Cool.

The production budget on Avengers: Age of Ultron was about $280M, so it seems reasonable to believe the production budget on Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2, being shot back-to-back for nine months in 2016, would be around $600M, maybe $700M. If you had to push it maybe you get to $800M. But, $1B?! That's a lot of clams!

"And of that, the above the line costs, that paid to the screenwriter, director, producers and principal actors will be a cool four hundred million dollars alone," BC reports."And of the actor budget, Robert Downey Jr gets half."

They also claim that Avengers: Infinity War doesn't have a script or a plot at this very moment. If that is true, then any report on the production budget is merely a guesstimate. You can't figure out a production budget without a script. Simple as that.

The films are being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War) and being written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 arrives in theaters May 4, 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 will arrive May 3, 2019.

  1. On one hand, it's not surprising given Disney nearly spent $400 on Pirates 4 and over $300 on Pirates 3, but even this it absurd. It'll probably $500-550 million at the most, MAYBE $600 million. And besides, Bleeding Cool has never been one to provide reliable "scoops" aside from their pre-52 Suicide Squad script leak and it just reads like "heard-from-a-guy-who-heard-from-a-guy."

Keep in mind that this is the budget for BOTH Infinity War Part 1 and 2, so it'd be 500M each. Also if I remember correctly, marvel announced that they would be filming both parts simultaneously starting next summer, so it makes sense that the budget would be combined as well.

  2. Being a full half of actor salary budget, I find hard to believe. While RDJ is a big draw, Chris Evans is also quite a draw, as would be the cast (esp Chris Pratt) of GotG, since GotG 2 & probably Jurassic World 2 would be out by then. A full 2-3x the salary of any of the other actors going to RDJ, I would totally believe.
