During today's Nintendo Direct, Pokemon fans were not left wanting more. Before the announcement that Pokemon Red, Blue & Yellow are coming to the 3DS Virtual Console, the company showcased some brand new footage from Pokken Tournament.

The game, being built from Namco-Bandai's Tekken engine, will feature some pretty intense action and a few surprises. The first production run of the game on the Wii U will include a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card.

This card will allow players to use Shadow Mewtwo immediately instead of playing through the game to unlock him. So if you're of the impatient variety, you're going to want to make sure you get your hands on an early copy.

Poke Tournament will hit stateside on the Wii U, Spring 2016.
