Silent Hills, Konami's cancelled collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro which would have thrust The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus into the world of the Silent Hill horror franchise, "needs to happen," Reedus told IGN.

"I'm super bummed that that happened back in Japan," Reedus said of the cancellation, "but I have faith. I have faith that we, the three of us, can do something else....There were so many ideas and cool future happenings that were thrown around, I just can't see us not picking this up somewhere."

While it's not clear whether Silent Hills itself will ever happen, Kojima and del Toro have spoken openly about their plans to work together again -- and now it seems as though Reedus is likely to be part of whatever it is.

"Hopefully they'll come to some sort of agreement and that happens, or we do something very similar that's different," said Reedus. "I don't know. I have faith that we're going to do something though because it just seems like it was one of those things that needs to happen. It's like destiny, it needs to happen."

Silent Hills had already started very early production and, according to Reedus, some of that footage might exist somewhere but it would likely just be him on a green screen, not anything fully rendered for the game.
