Marvel and ABC tonight announced that the two-hour season premiere of Marvel's Agent Carter will be delayed by two weeks, premiering on January 19 rather than January 5.

The announcement cited the January 12 date for President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address, which would pre-empt the second episode and likely create scheduling problems for the first half of the season, not anything related to the actual production of Carter.

Marvel and ABC will once again bridge the gap between the Fall and Spring halves of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a season of Agent Carter.

The series will have a two-hour debut similar to season one, running from 9 p.m. ET/PT until 11 for its premiere before going to a 9 p.m. one-hour time period for the remainder of its ten-episode run. It's not clear whether Carter will still have a couple of hiatus weeks before the return of S.H.I.E.L.D., although it seems unlikely. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return for the second half of its third season on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 9pm.

Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home - perhaps even a new love - she's about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

For those keeping track of the rest of ABC's schedule, Galavant will run in the interim for Once Upon A Time starting at 8 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, with Once returning on March 6. The Muppets returns with new episodes Tuesday, February 2 at 8 p.m. after a Winter hiatus.
