Despite popular theories and beliefs following the release of the Captain America: Civil War trailer and promotional art works, the film's director has re-confirmed that Black Panther does not choose a side in the super hero feud.

"Black Panther is, first of all, an amazing character," Anthony Russo started during a live panel a CCXP in Brazil over the weekend. "We couldn't be more excited to bring him to the screen for the first time. He's very central to the story. He comes into the story early. What's great about Black Panther in this movie is, all the characters choose a side, Captain America's side or Iron Man's side. Black Panther never chooses a side."

While the King of Wakanda may be after Bucky for his own personal reasons or that of his countries, he is not on the hunt on behalf of Iron Man but he is definitely not on Captain America's side.

This had been previously confirmed by Marvel Studios head honcho, Kevin Feige, but the footage from the first Civil War trailer left many speculating why it appears to show Black Panther in pursuit of Bucky. Many are theorizing that Bucky assassinated Black Panther's father while a part of the Winter Soldier program.

We'll find out when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
