Hasbro's Allspark Pictures and Paramount are officially joining together on Tuesday for one heckuva team-up. The groups are going to form a new movie universe that contains several of their popular toy brands, making G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K., and ROM exist in one world. The news first broke on THR.

The movies will come from Allspark with Paramount distributing. A writers' room, similar to the one recently completed for Transformers that included writers from previous films, Marvel Studios movies and TV shows, and even The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman, will be assembled for these new films. No word yet on who will be in the writers' room for these other films, merely citing "top talent."

"Paramount and Hasbro have had a longstanding relationship and we're proud of the success we've enjoyed on the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises," Brad Grey, Paramount chairman and CEO, told THR in announcing the deal. "We're excited to grow our agreement and make even more movies based upon these popular and powerful Hasbro characters and their worlds."

The exact nature of how they'll be interconnected sounds, at least this early, like it'll be following the Marvel Studios model, where properties can exist in the same world with small notes about the others' existence. No time table for any new film releases was announced. The news comes hot on the heels of Micronauts and Rom's long-anticipated comic book revival at IDW Publishing.
