Sure, everyone is talking about reviews of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With the lift of the embargo at 3:01am EST today, the reviews hit the internet and they've been overwhelmingly positive.

But NPR did something extra and fun, digging up the review from their archive of Tom Shales' original review of Star Wars, later also known as "A New Hope."

"It's a wonderful picture that's going to take the country by proverbial storm," he said. It's also fun to hear him say kids should "take their parents to see it." He says that "this kind of sci-fi is more fun and perhaps more valuable than the didactic kind." While noting Alec Guinness's presence, he notes the newcomers like Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are "all great."

"When I saw it in LA, the audience actually applauded, they were so excited," Shales said. It's a blast to hear, and worth taking a few minutes out of your day to hear the delightful conversation between Susan Stanberg and Tom Shales, capturing the magic of Star Wars for the first time.
