We've seen Harrison Wells dress up as the Reverse-Flash this season, as part of a ruse to trick Grodd, but now it's time for the the real deal Reverse-Flash to make his return.
Matt Letscher is set to reprise his role as Eobard Thawne in the eleventh episode of The Flash Season 2, appropriately titled "The Reverse-Flash Returns." Through nearly the entirety of the first season of The Flash, Thawne disguised himself as Wells, played by Tom Cavanagh. Letscher's return suggests that Thawne's true face will be on display this time around.
The Flash showrunners had previously hinted that we hadn't seen the last of the Reverse-Flash. Considering the time-travelling speedster was wiped from Earth-1's history at the end of Season 1 – when his ancestor, Eddie Thawne, killed himself –there's a fair chance Letscher will be playing the Eobard Thawne of Earth-2, though we can only speculate for now.
"His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger, forcing Barry to make a life-changing decision," episode writer Todd Helbing told EW.
The Flash returns Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
