With her live-action counterpart headed to Arrow soon, the Vixen animated short series has been renewed for a second season on CW Seed.

The series stars Megalyn Echikunwoke, who will also play the live-action Vixen on Arrow. The news of the series' renewal comes out of the Television Critics Association presentation by CW chief Mark Pedowitz.

CW Seed is the online, interactive component of the CW Network. They've developed a number of series there, including not only Vixen but the Veronica Mars spinoff Play It Again, Dick.

Arrow returns on January 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It seems likely Vixen will once again air during Arrow's summer/fall hiatus.

Here's hoping the 2nd season will be full length episodes and not continue with the 4 & 1/2 minute episodes

Animation is a bit difficult but I hope they go up to 10 minute episodes next season!

Man, I guess I need to go to their site and watch this. I remember seeing the first few but then just never got around to watching any more. Just haven't made the time.
