Amber Heard In Talks To Play Mera In Aquaman

Amber Heard is in talks to join Aquaman as Arthur Curry's love interest, Mera, according to a report from THR.

Heard would first appear in Justice League, and play opposite Jason Mamoa, the Game of Thrones alum who has been cast as DC's King of Atlantis in Batman v. Superman, Justice League, and the solo film.

Mera first appeared in Aquaman #11 in 1963. The Queen of Atlantis has abilities including aquakinesis, flight, and enhanced strength.

James Wan is attached to direct Aquaman. The film is currently on a dual track development, with David Leslie Johnson writing on script, and Kurt Johnstad writing another.

Heard's credits include roles in Magic Mike XXL and The Danish Girl.
