Deadpool Movie Officially Gets Its R Rating

Fox's Deadpool will be rated R.

Shocking, right?

Well, for a superhero film that plans to make a lot of money at the box office, it's a rarity. Still, the film started out with a mission to be R-rated, so it's arguably not surprising that it succeeded.

The official rating has been added to the film's official website. The rating is for "strong language and violence throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity."

Considering what fans have already seen via viral campaigns and red-band trailers, none of that is too surprising either.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

i just wish they would've left out the sexual nonsense and graphic nudity.. i'm just not really into wasting screen time on that. Deadpool is such an interesting character, I believe a great writer could've made this film without that and slipped through with a light R or a on the EDGE pg-13. the violence is Given for a deadpool film, just because the guy can be hacked to pieces and still pull himself back together.. but they prolly took this movie further than they even take the comics (which are mostly pg-13). so this one i wont watch till it's on tv. maybe i see it then, maybe not.

Deadpool books in the 90s were teenage appropriate but any Deadpool book released in the last 8 to 10 years is parental guidance aka 17 and up. For language, violence, and sexuality.

If it's not your thing cool,  you have that right. Why do you feel the need to post about it?  Watching deadpool on the TV is criminal, deadpool is an anti-hero he does bad things to bad people. If you want to see how crappy a movie can be when they play to the ratings board just watch Spawn. I frankly am glad they are making some movies for adults again.
