Daredevil Showrunner Responds To Frank Miller's Elektra Criticism

Marvel Comics writer Frank Miller is hard to please when it comes to his characters being adapted to the big screen and he's not afraid to admit it. Prior to the release of the new season of Daredevil, the comic book writer harshly criticized the new season's portrayal of Elektra.

Well, those comments got back to Daredevil showrunner Doug Petrie and it turns out - the criticism is one sided.

"God bless him, it's his prerogative," Petrie said to EW. "I'm a huge fan of what he did, so the [criticism] doesn't go both ways. I wouldn't say, 'What does Frank Miller know?' I'm so inspired by him and what he achieved and I'm trying to take it further and enrich her. She's an empowered woman with her own agency, she's nobody's victim."

Miller is known for not enjoying big screen portrayals of his characters. His has said in the past that he wouldn't watch Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy because he "always hates" when other people take over characters he has worked on. I wonder what he thought of Jennifer Garner's Elektra.

Daredevil's second season arrives on Netflix March 18.
