Neil deGrasse Tyson Defends Why He Thinks The Starship Enterprise Could Beat The Millennium Falcon

"I try to always take a new, fresh perspective on who and what we are," said Neil deGrasse Tyson before repeating his point about Star Trek's Enterprise being better than Star Wars's Millennium Falcon on Conan earlier this week.

"The Starship Enterprise would wipe its ass with the Millennium Falcon," Tyson said.

You can check it out below.

This isn't the first time the famed scientist has weighed in on the relative merits of these fictional spacecraft. Back in December, Tyson became the four billionth person talking about Star Wars by addressing the exact same question.

“There are real scientists and real engineers on staff [who are] on the ship, monitoring its engines, its warpdrive and photon torpedoes,” he said at the time. “It is the first-ever spaceship represented in storytelling that was not designed to go from one place to another — it was only designed to explore.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens reached theaters December 18, 2015.

Star Trek Beyond hits theaters July 8, 2016.

The Falcon wins since it isn't behoovant to physics or technobabble. Unless it's broken again.

  1. I'd have to go with the Falcon as well. It 'feels' like it has much better manouvrability. The whole 'screw physics' thing probably helps, yes.
