Ryan Reynolds has never made any bones about being a big fan of Deadpool, so it shouldn't surprise anybody that, with an R-rated movie version of the character coming in February, he's calling his shot and predicting that -- unlike the last time he played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine -- fans will love this take on the character.
"There's something very proprietal and very personal about it for me," said Ryan Reynolds. "I know what I can put on screen, and I know what I've put on screen is something that would make any fanboy proud."
"All anyone cares about in this process is making Deadpool work as much for the fanboys as it does for the uninitiated," Reynolds told Total Film (via Games Radar). "I can't wait to unleash it. We're so, so psyched. You're definitely going to be happy, that much I can promise..."
We've got under a month to wait at this point...!
Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
