Warning: Spoilers ahead for tonight's episode of The Flash, titled "Welcome to Earth-2."
Tonight saw Cisco Ramon see a twisted vision of himself in the form of Reverb, his Earth-2 self with the same powers...but much more of a handle on how to use them.
Shortly after Reverb told Cisco that he could be "a god," Reverb was struck down by Zoom, leaving Cisco with far more questions than answers.
During a screening of this week's episode earlier this week, executive producers were on-hand to tell reporters what that development will mean for Cisco.
"I feel like once you're exposed to something that's possible -- it's like the first time Tony Hawk did a 720 on the skateboard, everyone could do it," said executive producer Aaron Helbing. "Now that Cisco has seen the magnitude of what his powers are capable of, everything's possible in his mind."
They never seriously considered leaving Reverb alive to guide Cisco, either (even if the villain would have done so).
"It’s The Flash, so they might show up again in one form or another," admitted executive producer Todd Helbing. "But I think for the purpose of where we want to take Cisco, having [Reverb] die there was sort of the best way of doing what we wanted to do with his character."
What's next for Cisco? Well, for that, you'll have to tune in next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
