Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to get an R-rated "Ultimate Edition" release on Blu-ray, according to the Classifications and Ratings Administration.

Titled Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition, the expanded cut is likely to be similar in scope to Batman V Superman director Zack Snyder's Ultimate Cut of Watchmen.

It's reportedly rated R only for "scenes of violence," so it's unlikely this is a byproduct of Deadpool's massive success and the spate of R-rated comic book movies now rumored to be in development.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

  1. INB4 DAE COPYING DEADP00LOL. This film was shot nearly 2 years ago and this was rated today. I don't mind the rating because Zack is GREAT with Director's Cuts. HYPED!

Actually, this has been viewed and edited as far back as September, way before Deadpool. Either way, they can't say it's "copying Deadpool"

Nah, they are copying 300 jks. Anyway it's for the Blu-Ray, not the movie release, so not really a copy of deadpool

  4. I was kinda shocked by this but then I remembered that most of Zack Snyder's films have been R, including comics adaptations 300 and Watchmen. It's heartening that WB is allowing this in some capacity. They've aready said that The Killing Joke can be R if the producers want, and I would imagine that Suicide Squad would get an R-rated cut as well, since Ayer has only done R-rated films to this point.
