Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers of FOX's newest franchise darling Deadpool, started the X-Force ball rolling when they teased the appearance of Cable at the end of the film. Cable is known for having a love/hate relationship with Wade Wilson, so it makes perfect sense, but he is also known as the de facto leader of the original incarnation of the X-Force team.

When The Playlist caught up with Reese and Wernick, they asked about X-Force, and what kind of involvement they would have.

"We will have a hand in it," Wernick said. "I think everything that 'Deadpool' is involved in we will have a hand in and it's a universe that Ryan [Reynolds] and us are very close to and very protective of, so I do think we would absolutely involved in that franchise as well. If it's Deadpool related, I think you'll see some of our fingerprints on that."

While the R-rated film craze is in full swing, I honestly think X-Force might be a good candidate for it. It really just depends on what type of feel they are going for. X-Force has seen many lineups over the years and varying shifts in tone that it could go a variety of ways. Either way, having the team behind Deadpool involved, at least in an advisory role, is something I heavily endorse.
