Captain America: Civil War Is "Twice As Aggressive In Tone And Execution" Than The Winter Soldier

For Captain America: Civil War, the Russo Brothers are doubling-down on what made 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier so successful.

"We really did a radical reinterpretation of Captain America in Winter Soldier," Joe Russo said (cleveland.com) on Saturday, at Wizard World Cleveland Comic Con. "We were twice as aggressive in tone and execution on Civil War."

They went on to say that Bucky/Winter Soldier (played by Sebastian Stan) will play a more significant role in Civil War, and "the relationship between him and Captain America will be further fleshed."

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability. Get ready to pick a side and join the nonstop action playing out on two fronts when Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War opens in U.S. theaters on May.

Captain America: Civil War will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2016.

so this movie has a lighter tone than TWS (as they said in a previous interview) and now it's twice as aggressive in tone. it doesn't make sense and in these bros i DON'T trust.

  2. They said there was more humor, not that it was lighter in tone.Makes sense given both Ant-Man and Spider-Man will be in this.

Considering Ant-man, Spider-man and Iron Man are big on quips, it would be out of character for them not to do that.  The tone can be more aggressive due to the idealogical and emotional divide of the two sides.  IOW, they are say the film won't be monotone and dull.  It'll have more than one tone.  After seeing Winter Soldier, I think it will be fine.
