Happy Birthday! Zack Snyder Turns 50 Years Old Today!

Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder turns 50 years old today.

That's right -- just one day after Superman himself celebrated his birthday, the man responsible for reinventing him on the big screen is doing the same.

Snyder first came to fame as the director of the James Gunn-scripted Dawn of the Dead remake. Not long after that, he made 300, adapting the Frank Miller graphic novel of the same name, and then finally got Watchmen out of development hell after years of false starts.

Between Watchmen and Man of Steel, Snyder directed the family-friendly Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, and his first real critical misfire, Sucker Punch. Next, he'll direct Justice League Part One, which will reportedly start filming later in the spring.
