Ghostbusters Trailer Released

Sony has released the first trailer for Ghostbusters, Paul Feig's revival of the beloved '80s comedy franchise starring Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones.

This trailer seems to reflect a movie that's a little more intense, and balances the horror, mystery and comedy elements of the original Ghostbusters a little differently.

You can check it out below.

The main Ghostbusters cast includes Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones. Costarring in the film are Andy Garcia, Cecily Strong, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Chris Hemsworth and Neil Casey. Original Ghostbusters cast members Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts Sigourney and Dan Aykroyd will all make a cameo. It's being directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat), based on a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold.

Ghostbusters is due in theaters July 15, 2016.

When they announced this movie, I was worried because reboots tend to suck. The first trailer made me worry even more because it looked liked they were taking themselves to seriously. This trailer started off the same way, but by the end of it. I loved it, the only thing that confuses me is that they established that 30 years ago the Ghost Busters saved NYC yet the new characters act like they're the first people to do this. So my question is this taking place 30 years after Ghost Busters or is this a reboot?

  1. As expected, looks cool, looks fu. No more, no less, but it's a teaser so you can never read to much either way...other than the ghosts will look good.

  2. Meh. Why bother? The advantage to the First Ghostbusters was that almost all the actors were brilliant comedians. Who the hell are these women and why should I give a rat's patootie?

And as expected from everything about this cinematic abomination since it's announcement, it's god awful.

Some parts of the trailer look really good. I love the look of the ghosts and all the stuff they're doing with them. But wow those jokes just do not work. They start off with a stupid puke joke and the rest of the jokes in the trailer never really hit the right notes.
