Shohreh Aghdashloo Cast In Star Trek Beyond

According to Deadline, Oscar nominated and Emmy winning actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (House Of Sand And Fog, House Of Saddam) has joined the cast of Star Trek Beyond.

The 63-year-old Iranian-American actress will play "the role of the High Command of the Federation." She'll be participating in reshoots next week. That's the reason behind her late addition to the cast.

Aghdashloo is also known for playing Dr. Kavita Rao in X-Men: The Last Stand, Dina Araz in Fox's 24, and more recently Chrisjen Avasarala in the Syfy series The Expanse.

Star Trek Beyond stars Chris Pine and Captain Kirk, Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Sofia Boutella, and Karl Urban. Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 5 & 6) takes over as director of the Simon Pegg and Doug Jung written film.

Star Trek Beyond transports into theaters July 22, 2016.
