J.J. Abrams has been quite busy as of late. With Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens finally nearing the end of its theatrical run and his Dan Trachtenberg directed 10 Cloverfield Lane landing in theatres yesterday, it is understandable to think his plate might be a bit full.

No rest for the weary when it comes Hollywood however, so in a recent interview (via IGN) about 10 Cloverfield Lane, Abrams was asked if there were any updates on the Portal and Half-Life projects that were teased back in 2013.

"Not yet, but they're in development," he answered. "And we've got writers, and we're working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update."

So there isn't anything of note, other than the projects are still being worked on, and are not cancelled in any way. Guess this is a case of no news is good news.

Director Dan Trachtenberg, of Totally Rad Show fame, also developed an insanely cool Portal fan film that got a lot of attention back in 2011. While Abrams said it was a part of what got him the job on 10 Cloverfield Lane, it was specifically the great pitch he made for the film that landed him the gig.
