Deadline is reporting from sources both inside and outside of Warner Bros. that the studio's massive superhero tentpole Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is doing huge numbers of opening-weekend presale tickets.

The film has reportedly already earned $20-25 million, besting the presale numbers for huge hits like Deadpool, Furious 7, and Marvel's The Avengers.

Deadpool opened to $132 million earlier this year, while Furious 7 earned $147 million in its opening weekend last year and 2012 saw a then-record $207 million opening. Deadline compares Batman V Superman's numbers to those of The Dark Knight Rises at this time in its presale cycle, noting that a box office tally matching or exceeding The Dark Knight Rises in its opening weekend would set a new record for Easter weekend, and a new record for a March opening, passing The Hunger Games's $152 million.

The presale audience is overwhelmingly male, according to a non-studio analysis that indicates around 80% of the opening-night presale tickets were sold to men, as compared to 64% for Jurassic World, which broke The Avengers's opening-weekend record briefly before it was broken again by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

If Batman V Superman doesn't surpass The Hunger Games as the top March opener of all time, it will almost certainly take the #2 spot. Analysts had previously projected the movie to open in the neighborhood of $140 million, and the current #2 March opener of all time is Alice in Wonderland with $114 million. Furious 7 has the biggest Easter opening of all time, taking in $147 million on a year when Easter fell in April.
