Gotham Renewed For Season Three

Jim Gordon, The Penguin, and the rest will be back for at least one more year, as Gotham series star Ben McKenzie announced to Twitter today that the series has been renewed for a third season.

The series, which also stars Deadpool's Morena Baccarin, hails from executive producer Bruno Heller and has been one of FOX's breakout hits the last couple of years. It centers on a young Bruce Wayne immediately following the death of his parents, and the culture around the Gotham City Police Department while supervillains start to take hold and Detective James Gordon begins his ascent to Commissioner.

Gotham airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

Supergirl, which airs in the same time slot at CBS and also adapts DC Comics source material, has a renewal commitment as well -- and ArrowThe FlashiZombie, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow have already secured renewals at The CW. This leaves only Lucifer's fate to be decided.

Crappy shows continue to get renewed. Hopefully it'll meet it's end with season 3 just like Under the Dome.

  1. I'd be all for this. To be honest watching a show about Gotham City without actually having BATMAN in it just doesn't seem right. I've watched it a few times, and I like that it's got origin stories, but I just can't really get into it w/o BATMAN. What I was seriously expecting from this was that MAYBE in Season 1 they did all of the young Bruce first year after his parents' deaths, and then I figured that Season 2 would fast forward a few years, and bring the Bat. I REALLY hope that they do it for Season3.

What's really amazing in next week we get Paul Rubins as Penguin's father and there was one scene in this week's episode (the one where they lock him in with the ice cream guy) where something about the way he talks or acts seemed, to me, to be very like Paul Rubins. Can't wait to see where this is going.

If you don't like it and (I assume) don't watch it, what does it matter if it gets renewed or cancelled?Just continue to not watch it and you get what you want (i.e. no Gotham show appearing on your TV) and leave those who do like it to continue watch it, meaning we get what we want. It's a win-win as I've never understood the "I don't like it, so it should be cancelled and no-one can watch it" mentality some people seem to revel in.
