Ben Affleck Responds To Rumors Of Him Fixing The Batman V Superman Script

Last month, US Weekly published an article in which they claim Ben Affleck — who won an Oscar for co-writing 1997's Good Will Hunting — re-wrote parts of Chris Terrio's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice script, and did so while he was dressed in his superhero suit.

On Saturday, at a Mexico City news conference ahead of the world premiere of Batman v Superman, Affleck was asked about the rumor and he strongly denied it.

"That is the dumbest rumor," said Affleck (via THR). "I just like how if I was gonna go write, I would put on this bat suit first because it's so comfortable to write in. I didn't rewrite anything in any outfit, my underwear or otherwise."

In Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016.

  1. So, reading between the lines, Affleck worked on re-writing the script while naked? That just seems wrong!

I don't think he would ever confirm this even if it were true. He and Terrio have an established working relationship from working on Argo together and these rumors call into question Terrio's capabilities as a writer. Additionally, it could be seen as him fishing for a screenwriting credit which once again takes away from Terrio and Goyer.
