When it was announced that The Walking Dead would be getting a companion series, which turned out to be the sort-of prequel by the name of Fear The Walking Dead, fans naturally wondered if in a world of crossovers the two shows would ever collide.
It's easy to assume that we shouldn't expect to see Travis and Madison ever interact with Rick and Michonne. Plus, if the Fear group were to make it to Alexandria it would cause all sorts of timeline issues for both shows and they would probably be killed upon arrival, anyway.
Nevertheless, the topic of a Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead crossover came up during Fear The Walking Dead's panel at Paley Fest on Saturday.
“The chronology is so far apart, and there’s a continent between them,” says executive producer Dave Erickson, concluding that it “would be difficult” to link the two shows, at least for now.
If Fear's eighth season led the group to Alexandria, it would mean they would be arriving now on The Walking Dead. If you're still hoping before it, it's probably time to give it up.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC and Fear The Walking Dead premieres April 10 at 9 PM ET on AMC.
