First Look At K.J. Apa As Archie Andrews In Riverdale

Archie Comics has released the first image of K.J. Apa as Archie Andrews in the upcoming Riverdale TV series.

Apa is sporting the character's signature red hair, but his appearance seems mostly informed by the modern take seen in the rebooted Archie series launched Mark Waid and Fiona Staples.

The Riverdale pilot is being developed for the CW for the fall 2016 season. The pilot is being written by Archie Comics CCO Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and executive produced by Greg Berlanti of The Flash and Supergirl fame. The teen drama is said to put a modern and subversive spin on the classic characters.

The cast also includes Cole Sprouse, Lilli Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, Luke Perry, Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick, Ross Butler, Cody Kearsley, Daniel Yang, and Casey Cott.
