Captain America: Civil War looks to bring many of the themes explored by the films and TV shows of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its very inception to a head. A fan may want to track those themes ahead of the new film's release. However, with a runtime of over 5 days, a complete marathon is pretty tough to pull off.
Luckily, the fans over at MCUExchange have put together "The Road to Civil War" supercut, featuring the most thematically resonate moments in the MCU so far. The footage is pulled primarily from the Iron Man films, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the Avengers movies, but there's also footage from TV shows like Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Jessica Jones. In a way, it ties the expanded MCU together better than even Marvel itself has done.
Marvel's Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark's surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Check out when Captain America: Civil War and other movies are coming out in ComicBook.com's Movie Release Schedule.
