$20.3 million is the first-day cume for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the second largest movie market in the world, China. The film opened at Midnight there, where it pulled in $1.35 million. Later on Friday, we'll get numbers for the other openings in Japan, the UK, and of course, U.S. and North America.

That puts BvS at sixth all-time for an opening day of an American film, third highest of 2016, behind Kung Fu Panda 3 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (which opened in China in 2016). The all time record is held by Furious 7 at a staggering $63 million, though, so apparently Vin Diesel and The Rock can beat Batman and Superman.

Still, it's better than Jurassic World or Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, which earned around $228m and $136m respectively overall in the country, so things look good for Dawn of Justice in the middle kingdom.
