Zack Snyder Explains Why He Chose The Justice League Members He Chose

Warning: This article contains Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice spoilers.

Aside from featuring Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), the film also briefly introduces Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller). How did Zack Snyder choose those characters to be future members of the Justice League?

"I thought long and hard about who to bring in — who the Justice League would be made of," Snyder told IGN. "It was really to me like those were the heavy-hitters — right now. Of course there is room for some more. And I absolutely had to save, keep some back, for the next shock of awesomeness. But those guys felt like the guys that needed to surface."

Listen to Snyder's comments in the video (contains spoilers) below.

Yeah well done bringing a Titan in as a founding member and leaving Green Lantern out...great. But I'm sure WB/DC had the last say about who's in the JL anyways.

Still hold hope Hal or even John is in the Justice League, frak waiting till 2020 for friggin' GL Corps, a Green Lantern should be in the DCEU early, just like WW, Batman, Flash and Aquaman, he ain't no B-grade character, he's a core character in the DC Universe...

I'm sorry if people are Cyborg fans, but he shouldn't be there if Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter can't be too. Even George Miller knew that Justice League is a seven member team. I have no problem with JL being an eight member team, but six and not even six of the original founding members is disheartening.

  1. It's not the JL without a Green Lantern. Should be Hal though IMO. Save the other Earth Lanterns for the GL Corps movie.

God, this loser gets to make all the picks and gets to dictate the future of one of the most successful entertainment IP in history? I'm so not happy about this.

But of course, we'll see a different tune in 2 to 3 weeks. I hope getting rid of him will be swift and final.

Agreeing with most comments, having Cyborg instead of Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter is a real let down. Would have preferred Fisher in a Teen Titans film
