When Thor: Ragnarok begins filming later this year, it will do so on its star's stomping grounds: Australia.

Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, campaigned to have the third installment of his trilogy head down under.

"When we had an opportunity to talk about where it was gonna be shot, I said, 'Why can't it be Australia?' They went, 'Oh, well, it's a long way,' and so on but I kept pushing it along and that became a bigger and bigger conversation and it landed here," Hemsworth says. "I couldn't be happier. For me, living up near the Gold Coast, as well, to be home shooting is huge but a lot of my friends are gonna be on that production. People I've known for years."

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3, 2017.
