Fans have been waiting for Negan to arrive on The Walking Dead for months now.

The villain was first teased months ago in the "prologue" for the second half of the show's sixth season when Abraham, Sasha, and Daryl ran into a batch of Saviors in the streets. From then on, confrontations spawned week in and week out with Rick's group getting away mostly unscathed.

That will change when the real Negan stands up.

"Just get ready, man," Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln warns. "Just get ready." Lincoln says that The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero, who directs the season finale, has dubbed it "the best one yet." It seems like Lincoln agrees, too, as he adds, "I read the script and I went, 'This is the greatest entrance ever written.'"

Naturally, jealousy ensued on set. "All of the guys were going, 'Aw, man. I wish I had gotten this guy!'" Lincoln admits. "It's incredible. Although it's also kind of unbearable. Norman and I were like, 'Ugh, all the girls on set are gonna love him.' "

All jokes aside, Negan will mean business when he arrives this weekend.

"We've been talking about this guy for a long time," Lincoln goes on. "It's probably the most important casting since Rick, really. Everybody needs a hero, but I think they probably need a really good baddie even more. Negan's incredibly charismatic. In this deranged society, there is a kind of logic to the way that he is running the place. He runs a tight ship, I'll tell you that much. I'm actually very impressed. I doff my cap to this man!"

The Walking Dead airs its final episode of season six this Sunday at 9 PM ET on AMC.
