Smallville will finally be streaming legally online at some point in 2016, according to a story at KryptonSite.

As part of a multi-show deal that also includes The OC, Southland, Blindspot and Lucifer, the report says that Smallville is headed to Hulu and that the CW series often credited with revitalizing both the Superman brand and comic book TV will steam in its entirety on that platform.

Of course, it's worth noting that Lucifer is a DC Comics property, Blindspot is produced by The Flash's Greg Berlanti, and both The OC and Southland featured Ben McKenzie from Gotham. So this is, all in all, a pretty DC-friendly slate of new acquisitions for Hulu.

Smallville ran from 2001 to 2011, and for much of that time told the stories of a pre-Superman Clark Kent fighting super-villains in Smallville, Kansas. Eventually, the series would head to Metropolis, introducing Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and numerous other elements of the Superman mythology. A number of DC superheroes came to the show as guest stars, recurring guests or even series regulars -- a role that made Green Arrow seem like a potentially attractive series lead once Smallville was over.
