Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has officially joined the remake of Jumanji, he announced in an instagram post.

"It's official. We'll produce and deliver to a whole new generation a title that I love and is one of my all time favs: There's games you play for fun...then there's games that change your life. JUMANJI," Johnson said.

He said he loves the script that's being tweaked now, and it sounds like he's signing on to both produce and star in the film, as his "Seven Bucks Productions" team is working on the script rewrites. Matt Tolmach is also producing, with Jake Kasdan directing.

The Rock, who is currently shooting a Baywatch reboot, said that shooting on Jumanji will start this fall with Sony Pictures.

"Promise to deliver something cool and special... and not screw the whole damn thing up," he finished.

Johnson was rumored to be joining Jumanji last weekend, alongside his pal actor and comedian Kevin Hart, though he didn't spill the beans on whether Hart's deal was done, as well. Jumanji is currently on Sony's calendar for July 28, 2017.
