Will Smith Spoke To Prince The Night Before He Died

Add actor and former rapper/musician Will Smith to the chorus of celebrities mourning the loss of Prince. He posted to his facebook on Thursday that he was "stunned and heartbroken."

"I just spoke with him last night," Smith wrote. "Today, Jada & I mourn with all of you the loss of a beautiful poet, a true inspiration, and one of the most magnificent artists to ever grace this Earth."

Coincidentally, when MTV played a marathon of Prince music videos, at one point their search algorithm messed up, playing a Will Smith as "Fresh Prince" video along the way. It sounds like that's something that Smith and Prince would have had a laugh about together.

Prince's pop culture influence, let alone his influence on creators of music and virtually every other form of entertainment, will clearly be felt far and wide. Smith can next be seen in this summer's Suicide Squad.
